Scallywag have over 25 years experience in running ceilidhs and barn dances. We specialise in weddings, parties, social dances and charity fundraising events for all ages. Consequently we pride ourselves in knowing exactly how to make the evening a success. For example, with our mix of traditional and rock instruments we can change the feel of the evening to suit your guests perfectly. Also, we can change the volume from close, intimate and acoustic through to full on rock in an instant.
Scallywag are based on the Devon and Cornwall border. As a result we cover from Plymouth to Bristol and down to Penzance. Additionally, to end our barn dances, we offer a disco set to finish the evening. Click here for more info.
Our influences are drawn from traditional folk music of Irish, English and French origin mixed with Reggae, Rock and Jazz (nice) creating infectious dance styles designed to appeal to all tastes.
The usual line up of the band is four musicians drawn from fiddle, whistles, mandolin/mandola, guitar/octave-mandolin and bass guitar.
This instrumental versatility enables the band to switch from a traditional to a contemporary line-up with ease. We carry our own caller which will be included in the price you are quoted.
To see if we are free to play for you or to find out more, please email me, Gordon, at
email@example.com. For now, all I need to know are a couple of key things listed below.
- Date – this can be suggested date. It doesn’t matter for now if you haven’t booked a venue. We can help you with that.
- Venue – if you know where you are holding your event, let me know. It helps me understand how much room we have to work with.
- Event – Are you having a wedding reception, birthday party, Harvest supper, etc.
- Any other information – With the info above I can let you know if we’re free. If there’s anything else you can tell me like how many people coming, charity, club social, that would help me to help you.
